Pot Farming

There's nothing like indoor farming. Well, okay, the gang was only indoors the first couple days, and they might be indoors for a couple more when the painters get to my building, but right now, and hopefully through this Spring and Summer, they're just outside on the balcony, probably leaves dropping on me at this very moment. But these pictures mark the beginning of yet another adventure in my oh-so-adventurous life.

Let's start the introductions.

Here's a group shot of the gang after being potted

Say hello to Bonnie
(yellow bell)

Amarilla
(bonnie green bell)

And Ol' Blue
(red bell)

As you might have noticed, the bells are rooming together.

But continuing on,

This here's Munkee
(sweet banana pepper)

Balki
(greek oregano)

Alfredo
(patio tomato)

Tom
(sweet basil)

And Basil
(cucumber)

I only hope they each have enough pot and sunlight to survive.

cool post. Good luck with your new friends. You are ahead of me unless you count things that are growing and ready for harvest from last fall. I just have seeds in pots, and nothing showing.

Thanks! I cheated and got the ones that are already started for you. They're getting special treatment right now, because I bring them in at night. It's gotten pretty cold the last couple nights and I didn't know if it was too low for them. Plus I'm worried they don't get enough sun on my balcony, so I leave the fluorescent light on in the kitchen at night. Don't know if that's enough to make a difference for these kinds of plants, or if it's the right kind of bulb, but figure it can't hurt. Once the nights warm up a bit they'll be on their own to brave the elements, sun or no sun.

Nice! You're gonna have some yummy salads and great grilled peppers soon.
